Introduction to the A. C. Freeman House

Augustus C. Freeman was a city tax collector, councilman, mayor, sheriff and county commissioner.  He built this two story Victorian house on Marion Avenue near the present Charlotte Regional Medical Center.

The home has a spacious wrap around porch featuring Queen Anne trim, a veranda and a third story tower.  When it was slated for demolition in 1985, the Medical Center Foundation coordinated a community effort to relocate and restore it.
